CurraNZ ambassador's marathon win helping build towards Comrades 2025

Meet New South Wales-based CurraNZ ambassador Marnie Ponton, who is taking on the world's largest and oldest ultramarathon, Comrades, in South Africa in June.

Marnie was delighted to win the community-organised Port Fairy Marathon, held  in Victoria, in February as part of her build-up to the iconic 88km Comrades, which attracts 25,000 runners.

Marnie says, "The plan is to build weekly mileage, lots of long runs, plenty of sub-threshold work and heaps of downhill running.

"I’ll do a marathon each month as training and I’ve been taking CurraNZ for the last month and it’s helping me to show up and feel ready for whatever is planned for the day!"
