Highlanders sizzle to unlikely victory with a blistering second-half performance against the Chiefs

CurraNZ-powered Super Rugby team The Highlanders set the rugby scene alight mid-July when coming from 24-0 down to edge out a nail-biting 33-31 win in the final minutes of the game.

Pundits described the result as 'unlikely' as the visitors served up a Super Rugby Aotearoa thriller against the Waikato Chiefs in Hamilton

We’ve seen in our studies that CurraNZ helps elite athletes overcome fatigue and maintain their running performance up until the final whistle, and so it proved here. Trailing 31-26, they won a penalty after the full-time siren to clinch the win.

Down 24-7 at half-time, things didn’t improve early in the second half when their rivals increased their margin to 31-7.

However, the Highlanders turned the game on its head when scoring four second-half tries, including two in the final five minutes, in a true CurraNZ-style superhero performance.

The Highlanders play the Blues this weekend at home in Dunedin.
